Unity State basketball team defeats SPLA Bilpham warriors in final match

(Juba,Southern Sudan)– It was a beautiful day in Juba, South Sudan as President Salva Kiir Mayardit arrived at the Juba Basketball Stadium last evening to witness the final game between the Bentiu (Unity State) and the SPLA Bilpham Warriors.

The Bentiu basketball team beat the SPLA Bilpham Warriors 65 to 63.

The tournament was organized by the South Sudan Basketball Association with the collaboration of SPLA.

Later the team posed for a picture honoring the Minister of SPLM Affairs, H. E. Lt. General Nhial Deng Nhial.

H. E. Gen. Salva Kiir, who left early due to some national commitments, contributed the sum of Ls100, 000.00 (One Hundred Thousands Sudanese Pounds) and a Vehicle (Land Cruiser) to the South Sudan Basketball Association.

For the spectators, it was a marvelous and joyful moment to see for the first time such an event taking place in South Sudan. Six basketball teams participated in the tournament: Jonglei State, Unity State, Central Equatoria State, Juba Town, Sudan Olympic (From Khartoum) and SPLA Worriers.
