JUBA, SOUTH SUDAN: Lieutenant General Malual Ayom Dor, the SPLA Deputy Chief of Staff for Administration and the General in Charge of Operation in Bor theatre of military operations IS ALIVE and well.
Speaking to our correspondent from the front lines at the outskirts of Bor town he said that he was well and uninjured in the ambush that resulted in the death of Brigadier General Abraham Jongroor and wounding of Brigadier General Kuol ë Malith. He strenuously denied reports of his death by Sudan Tribune and labeled them as “lies and propaganda” and by the enemy. He will be seeking to address the matter soon.
He said, “Sudan Tribune is against the SPLA, and me personally. This is the second time they have written lies about me.” In October 2008, “they published false allegations against me when I was in charge of Directorate of Military Training in Malou (Lakes State). They never issued an apology and refused to publish my account refuting their allegations.”
General Malual added that it is very important to verify information first before publishing misleading accounts. He said that despite the setback in term of losing a senior General the SPLA was making a steady progress and should be “in control of Bor soon.”
