Abyei will be the inspiration for the liberation of the Sudan
May 6, 2008 (Seychelles) - Let me remind Al Nafie that he can bark as much as he wants. Oppressed people of the Sudan are tired of their hiding behind Islam in order to kill and plunder in the name of Allah. Muslim scholars will not condone what you are doing to the Darfur people who are more God -fearing than you are.
President Al Bashir should sack advisers like you. Remember Saddam Hussein terrorized the people of Iraq for forty years, but at the end they got him. Please soften your war mongering statements and preach peace and reconciliation or else you will end up like Chemical Ali, Saddam Hussein’s cousin who is now sentenced to hang.
National Reconciliation is the only healing process that will treat the hatred caused by atrocities you committed in the name of Allah, the Almighty, in the last 20 years. Now all the marginalized people of the Sudan have come to the realization that the NCP has a hidden agenda far away from Islamic religion. They have seen you killing in the North, South, East and West Sudan without distinction except if the people sympathasize with you or they are Arabs. I am surprised that the International Community continue to ignore the fact that the NCP government is the obstacle to peace and development in the Sudan. Even President Bush of the USA has compromised the Darfur and the CPA and moving to normalize relations with the Sudan Government. What rank hypocrisy!
History is conveniently brushed aside when it comes to certain dictatorial regimes like the one in the Sudan. Al Bashir was among the few Arab leaders who supported Saddam Hussein Invasion of Kuwait that resulted into the Gulf war in 1990 when he refused to contribute troops to global coalition effort to free Kuwait. I recall very vividly in an interview with the BBC, the late visionary leader of the Sudan and leader of the Sudan People Liberation Movement, Dr John Garang De Mabior offered fighters of the SPLA to join the coalition forces to liberate Kuwait to show the world that dictators like Sadddam and Al Bashir should not be allowed to destabilize the world peace. NCP continues to arm the Messiriah against the Ngok Dinka of Abyei in blatant violation of the CPA. If this historic peace accord fails, to put it in Dr. Garang’s paraphrased words that people of the South Sudan will make it unpalatable for those responsible for its failure.
Ths Sudanese people are tired of war and they will allow Islamic diehards a clean exit through the polls if you will ever hold credible elections in the Sudan. I challenge a Nafie’s NCP to hold a credible election supervised by international observers with clearly laid down electoral laws that are accepted by all political stakeholders in the whole country and we shall have our lovely country fighting poverty and focusing its efforts to the development of this vast country with enormous riches that will accelerate the wheel of development of our nation. The feet-dragging of the NCP has already started and the indicators are the way they want to conduct the national census. There is not going to be a credible census when returnees are being prevented from going back to their birth places.Garang signed the CPA in good faith and good faith is what is a missing commodity with the NCP.
I congratulate Commander Edward Lino Abyei and his cool stand in Abyei by not allowing himself and the SPLM/A to be drawn into provocations incited by the troops build up in Abyei and the Messiriah blockade of Abyei. The people of Abyei did not come to Abyei because there is oil there. This is the land of our ancestors and we will never give it up to any one.
The NCP troops build up in Abyei is a pretext to create another repeat of the situation that created horrors in the late 1980s to late 1990s. I would like to turn the world attention that those brutal testimonies were caused by the same merciless regime that the International Community still does business with in gentle-men terms. If we claim that the Sudan is to remain one country, what is wrong for an SPLM to appoint its high ranking official to fill the vacuum created by the absence of an administrator to provide services to the people of the area until the people decide a permanent solution stipulated by the CPA?
The SPLM has acted correctly by placing Edward Lino Abyei in Abyei. Please NCP stop lying to people of the world that you are implementing the CPA. Tell the world that you are killing it slowly but surely so that we can go back to the drawing board of the war rooms this time to eradicate all sorts of things that divide us as a nation or else we turn it into small petty nations.
Long live the Sudan and down with dictators that have hampered the advancement of this nation that is rich with its diverse cultures and immense wealth. The whole world is striving to curb food shortages and making contingencies to meet the high demand for food while the NCP is busy spreading soldiers to plunder and to kill the poor in Darfur, Abyei and Aweil in Bahr Al Gazal.
