(JUBA, NSV) - The deputy head of United Nations Children Funds, Hilda Johnson, has warned that millions of people will starve to death in Southern Sudan if nothing is done in 2010.

Speaking to Miraya FM, Johnson described the situation as bad. She voiced her concern about the increase in malnutrition in children in the Jonglei area. Johnson has appealed for aid to make sure that the situation is averted.

Jonglei is faced with a lot of challenges, the worst of which being the insecurity. The food aid would contribute in helping the state of Jonglei and also Southern Sudan in general. Johnson is planning a tour of Sudan and horn of African in general.
