Rising star Akon Makeer Galuak to sing in Boston Massachussetts on December 22, 2012

Dear Fellow South Sudanese in Diaspora, particularly in North America, please come and join me in launching my new CD titled, “Thank God we are free now.” My name is Akon Makeer Galuak; I am a member of your community asking for your support. I will be holding a concert in Boston, MA on Saturday, 22 December 2012, the weekend right before Christmas. My goal is to introduce my new CD and to ask for your support in reaching my next objective of producing a DVD. Please come and support me, because I cannot get anywhere without my community’s support. akon makeer

I am singing not for fame and money, but to let go of the pain I have been holding in my heart, the pain caused by the many ordeals we all have endured during the civil war in South Sudan. I am also trying to reach out to all the souls that have been touched by the longest civil war in our history including my own.

My hope is that I can help one person let go of their pain of war atrocities and sufferings during the civil war through my songs, somehow. I am also singing to encourage all South Sudanese to replace pain with hope and love and to move forward with aspirations that build strong communities and nations.

I am aware that there may be other community events already planned in other areas surrounding Boston given the season, and with that I will understand if you cannot make it to Boston, MA on that weekend before Christmas.

I am looking forward to seeing many of you out there, and I would like to thank you in advance for coming and for your support. May God bless you and your families during this holiday season, and may God bless our Country of South Sudan with all blessings of peace and stability.
